Nikolay Lgovsky – percussionist, was born in 1966 in Moscow. His teachers were famous performing educators S. Lobanov, M. Pekarsky, V. Fedin. He graduated from the Gnessin’s Academy of Music.

Nikolay Lgovsky performs with world famous musicians, like G. Kremer, Yu. Bashmet, F. Lips, T. Grindenko, A. Lyubimov, V. Tarassov, G. Garanyan, A. Gerassimov, etc.

As a member of the percussion ansamble conducted by Mark Pekarsky, he performed at prestigious festivals: Wien Modern, Berliner Festwochen, New Beginning (Glasgow, Scotland), Warszawa Autumn. Nikolay Lgovsky is the first player of many pieces for percussion instruments by famous composers S. Gubaydulina and E. Denissov. He has been on tour in Russia, Western Europe and the USA.
He took part in the well known theater project by Valery Fokin (“Number in a Hotel of Town NN”) in the Meyerhold Theater Center.

This musician cooperates with various bands and performers: “Piazzolla Studio” conducted by F. Lips, Alexey Aigi and the “4.33” band, Alik Kopyt (Amsterdam).

In 2001—2003 Nikolay organized series of concerts as part of the “Silent movie – live music” cycle where he performed his own music to classic films of the French avant-garde.

Since 2008 hi has been a participant of art-project Shёpot (performance “Golodar” based on short stories by Franz Kafka).
