Anna Chekassina is a violinist, vocalist, composer, performer and “multi performance actor”, as she’s called by the press sometimes. Just at the beginning of the career, she’s interested in music, theater and cinema. Anna was born in 1986 in Moscow. She graduated from the Music College at the Moscow Conservatoire and she’s a Bachelor of the State Classical Academy. At the age of nine Anna started performing at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater as a choral singer. Since 1998 she has played solo programs for the violin with an orchestra conducted by Vassily Gladysh (Russia, France and Germany). Already at her prime Anna took part in “Sunday of Lazar” performance by Boris Milgram, based on Dostoyevsky‘s novel, where she was on stage with such actors as Vitorgan, Zhigalov, Radzyukevich, Zhigalkin. At the same time Anna recorded soundtracks for movies “Moths’ Games” and “Kalashnikov and Spartak” by Andrey Proshkin, as well as “The Wedding” by Pavel Lungin. In 2005 Anna held a number of choreorgaphical and musical performances in Great Britain together with Roman Shinov (plastic arts). In the recent years Anna has been leading an active scenic life, cooperating with representatives of various artistic trends: Vladimir Chekassin, Alexander Girshon and Angela Doniy, Sergey Letov, Felix Lauhti, Kaftan Smeha, The Decomposers, Rada and Ternovnik, Alexey Kruglov and Krugly Band, Sergey Klevensky, Kostarev group, etc. In 2007 the trio of Brigita Bublite, Anna Chekassina and Vitis Nivinskas presented a musical literature program at the Lithuanian National radio, that became the basis for performance “Closed party” of the Oskar Korshunovas Theater staged by Daynius Gavyanonis and Yurate Paulekayte. Anna collaborates with the best local and guest musicians during various festivals, including Nida Jazz Maratonas, Christofer’s festival, Nashestvie, Ethnosphere, Jurbarko literaturos forumas, Pustye Holmi, SKIF, etc. Since 2008 Anna is a founder (together with Anatoly Riassov) and a participant of musical and theatrical performances of art-project Shёpot.
