|    Photos by I.Solovej | | Anatoly Riassov is a writer, poet, essayist, musician, performer; born in Moscow in 1978, graduated from the Department of Philology of The Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University. Author of novels “Three Hells” (Moscow, 2003), “Prelude. Homo Innatus” (Moscow, 2007) and “Wasteland” (Saint Petersburg, 2012). Laureate of literary prize “Debut” in the nomination “Major prose” for novel “Three Hells”. The novel “Prelude. Homo Innatus” was the base for musical performance “Exfoliation”; the libretto is available in Russian and English. The novel "Wasteland" was included in "Bolshaya Kniga" and "Alexander Piatigorsky" literary prize long-lists, "Andrey Bely" literary prize short-list. Artist N.Krassilnikova created graphics for the novel. Poems, stories, articles, and essays are continually published in literary almanacs and online sources. PhD, orientalist, author of two politological monographs (“”The Left” in the Arab East: the experience of Libya” and “Gaddafi’s political concept in the spectrum of the “leftism”) and a number of scientific texts, published in Russian, English, French, and Arabic. From 2003 to 2008 – the scriptwriter and vocalist of avant-garde rock-theatre “Kaftan Smeha”, which participated many times in international art festivals (SKIF, InProg, Baltic Prog Fest, Pustye Holmy, etc). From 2008 – the founder (in collaboration with Anna Chekassina) and a member of musical and theatrical performances of Art Project “Shёpot” (“Whisper”).
